RE:ACT is a new non-professional youth theatre group in Thurrock and is affiliated to the adult amateur theatre company Thurrock Thameside Musical Society (TTMS).
We want to offer young people in Thurrock and surrounding areas a fun and safe environment in which they will have the opportunity to perform live theatre at venues in Thurrock, to meet with others who share similar interests, to grow in confidence and ability, to sing, dance and act - taking part in a host of workshops and rehearsals which will enhance these skills, but most of all to have a good time doing something they enjoy.
Young people will have varying abilities when it comes to performing, but we want to make sure that there is something for everyone. We will perform one annual musical show per year at a venue in Thurrock. By becoming a founder member of the group you will have the opportunity to give input on other activities that we can introduce in the future.
Les Miserables - Schools Edition
We have chosen Les Miserables - Schools Edition as our debut production. This is one of the most successful and beloved shows in musical theatre history. The main version is still running in the west end and this version has been specially adapted for young performers. The show runs for approximately 2 hours and very little has been taken out of the main production, so this is indeed an exciting opportunity for us and for those wishing to take part.
